Russian Towers kicked off SiteXchange, the project for independent owners’ site management
15 June 2017, Moscow
Russian Towers group of companies, the largest independent infrastructure operator in Russia and the owner of antenna mast structures, created SiteXchange, an industrial property reservation system. Now owners of any real estate that is suitable for installation of communications providers’ base stations (towers, buildings, chimneys, roofs, etc.) have an opportunity to gain extra earnings from rental, transferring the management of this process to a specialized company. In their turn, service providers will get an access to thousands of venues to develop their communication networks. Russian Towers serve as the information aggregator, ensure conclusion of necessary agreements, creation of technical conditions for installation, and further cooperation.
Thanks to the strategic partnership of Russian Towers group of companies and the Big Four operators, as well as cooperation with other potential leaseholders, inter alia, within the framework of various federal and government programs, participation in this project is rather promising in the context of the soonest commissioning of the venues for facility owners.
Maxim Vedernikov, Business Development Director, Russian Towers group of companies:
Russian Towers seek to extend their tower portfolio in order to offer ample opportunities for optimization of their clients’ wireless networks. By uniting independent owners of towers, real estate items, government and corporate companies, as well as other infrastructure owners in SiteXchange project, we encourage the growth of their income in the longer term.”
In June an agreement on transfer of the management of 36 facilities in the Perm Territory to Russian Towers group of companies was concluded. These facilities are integrated into the Russian Towers’ infrastructure offer concerning placement of the operators’ equipment from July 2017.
Agreements with a number of organizations in the Ivanovo, Tula, Volgograd, Novgorod, Orenburg, Rostov Regions, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan are under approval.
Alexander Chub, President of Russian Towers group of companies:
“Russian Towers continues its active development in accordance with the adopted strategy as far as the scope, range of decisions, and services are concerned. The SiteXchange project is another pioneering step in this direction. Attributing the company’s success to the market development, we developed a project which makes it possible to simplify the cooperation of infrastructure owners with communication providers, extend the potential of both parties, and establish common standards. We are negotiating with infrastructure owners all over Russia and intend to include up to several thousand facilities in the program by 2020. In 2017 alone we will expand the program up to 500 facilities.”
